Private Dinner Party

Cathy and Kent have the most gorgeous, screened in living room. It’s more than a porch so I just can’t call it a porch! They both are very active in the community from associations and boards to serving on many councils at their church. They host many events in this space and I have been so thrilled to be a part of their event family. This was a dinner for 16 ladies that are good friends from Junior League. They pick a theme and from there I work some magic. This month’s dinner was a “Picnic” theme.

Flowers: Trader Joe’s with some Mason Jars- Have you ever been to Trader Joe’s at 8am on Saturday? That’s when you will see local florists or event designers there. That’s how you get access to the best and freshest flowers. We bought a box of 12 mason jars, two years ago for Cathy’s events and they are used at just about every event we do. Cathy has great storage so we have been able to buy things to keep to be re-used for her events.

Catering: The Picnic Café- A Nashville classic! They box everything up beautifully and it’s easy to be moved to platters. Trio of sandwiches on their homemade yeast rolls, pimento cheese and crackers, and lemon bars were just a few of the favorites that night.

Alcohol: Cool Springs Wine & Spirits- I am a huge fan of Cool Springs Wine & Spirits for a few reasons. They have such knowledgeable staff and you can tell them what you are serving or what your theme is they will give you recommendations. They take back unopened bottles! That always gives my hosts peace of mind, knowing we can do a quick return if needed. I find the pricing to be really great and they offer discounts by case.
