The B3: LinkedIn Tips

BC originally started as company focused on career coaching, interview prep and resume design. It’s been a big part of our business, especially this year with the great resignation and the great reshuffle. Events are fun and sexy and always have a great picture not quite like career coaching. We want to make sure we are equally showcasing this part of the business as well. This past week I took a few classes during a conference on LinkedIn and learned so much to help my clients build better profiles that attract the right employers and connections. Here are 3 great tips for you:

  1. Pictures are important! Your profile picture should be a professional headshot. I find so many companies and conferences you attend offer complimentary headshots. If you don’t have access to a complimentary one, invest in some good pictures. I paid $250 for mine and had two looks and lots of great options.

  2. Recommendations are the new endorsements! Ask your co-workers, peers, leaders and clients to leave a recommendation on your page.

  3. Fill in the “About” section and make it original! I was surprised how many people didn’t have the “About” section filled out. It’s the first section recruiters and employers will see so take the time to sell yourself and your skills. Don’t just copy from your resume. Add skills, stories or items that may not be on your resume but are impactful. Standout!
